Power Generation Station – Controls Upgrade

Peak Lopping station for a major UK energy company.

The Station has 4 diesel generators which supplies electricity directly to the grid during peak demand times boosting the grids electrical capacity.

The contract was to design, manufacture install and commission the sites whole electrical control system:

• 4 off generator control and synchronising systems.
• G59 protection for all 4 generators to main grid systems.
• PLC controlled ‘balance of plant system’ All 4 generator control systems feed into this equipment giving both local & remote control, data logging, trending, power output, engine speed etc.
• Oil on water monitoring and detection system. This ensures that any site oils do not enter any external water course for environmental and health reasons.
• Fuel pumping and filling level system controlling the fuel from the main diesel storage tanks.
